Digital event: Taking advantage of public procurement opportunities in Canada

On Wednesday 19 May 2021 at 16:00 CET., the Delegation of the European Union to Canada organises a webinar about how to take advantage of public procurement opportunities in Canada. This training session is geared towards European SMEs that are interested in bidding for public procurement contracts at various levels in Canada. During the session, participants will learn from two public procurement experts who will share their insights and practical tips on the following points: how does the public procurement market look like in Canada? Where and how to find the right opportunities and information? What are the eligibility criteria and the rules of application? What are the dos and don'ts? How to maximize the chances of success?

The session will also offer the opportunity for interactive breakout discussion with the two experts, both on the practical and legal sides.

Speakers:

LIZ BUSCH, Director at Busch Procurement Advisory Service, has more than 20 years experience in Canadian public sector procurement, most of which as an employee of the Province of British Columbia. She left government to start her own consulting practice in 2019, where she now assists both public sector entities and vendors with their procurement project and training needs.

GERRY STOBO, Partner of Cassidy, Levy, Kent LLP (Ottawa), is one of Canada's leading procurement and trade lawyers. He has acted for all levels of government and private sector clients throughout Canada on complex public procurement law and government contracting matters involving the design of procurement processes, drafting procurement documents, advising on issues during the bid period, and assisting with legal challenges.
